Dear Parents,

Parent Observation input forms will be available beginning April 23rd at the school office and must be returned to the appropriate school office by May 4th.  We will be holding an open house at both schools on Monday, April 23rd from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  We welcome parents to join us that evening to visit with staff and tour the classrooms.  We will be setting up appointments to observe teachers Tuesday, April 24th – Thursday, April 26th.  Parents who wish to visit must call the school office and schedule an appointment.  Appointments must be made at least one day in advance.   We will begin taking appointments Monday, April 16th.  Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call the Primary School office at 358-3502 or the Intermediate School office at 358-5250.

Recently, students, parents, and staff had the opportunity to help develop a school mission and a motto.  Our revised mission is "The mission of Douglas Intermediate School is to provide a nurturing, safe environment with high expectations so that our students become life-long learners and strive to be responsible, respectful, productive citizens.  Our new motto is "The more we R.O.A.R., the more we'll soar."  R.O.A.R. represents the four DIS behavioral attributes that we encourage consistently in all areas of the school; R. = Respect, O. = Organization, A. = Academics, R. = Responsibility.

Join the Box Tops for Education Booster Club and support Our school

Please save any Box Tops For Education logos you find on food purchases.  Our school will be collecting and redeeming them for items we can purchase for our school.  Teachers will be collecting them monthly.  Please contact your child's teacher if you have further questions.  Thanks for your assistance!
